Numbered Account by Christopher Reich

One of my favourite murder mystery books, a financial thriller that unveils the behind the scenes at a Swiss Bank.

The book starts In Switzerland at Lake Zurich in 1962 and very quickly introduces us to the two murders and then jumping into the 1980`s when our protagonist Nick Neumann arrived to Zurich to follow his father’s footsteps to work in the United Swiss Bank, where his main thoughts are: “You’re in! Keep your mouth closed and your eyes open. Became one of them.” So he can figure out his fathers murder, to know what happened, who did it? The story introduce us into the inner area of Swiss Bank where the account holders are very various and interesting people, like drug lords and survivors of Hitler’s camp, customers from Italy, Turkey, Greece, Middle East etc, hundreds of accounts with assets over two billion USD. Then the with the other thread of the story fly’s us over to the Middle East introducing us to The Pasha’s life and lifestyle, where he has huge land with large buildings and expensive cars. Meanwhile a rival bank comes in front of our eyes, the DEA arrives to the United Swiss Bank to investigate account holders and our main character Nick is developing a romantic relationship.

One happening leads us to the other, there is no time to put down the book because I was so interested in the next step in the next lead I just wanted to read and read.

Big congratulation to the author creating a very well written and thoroughly thought out story!

If you want a very interesting well written murder mystery, don’t miss out on this book!

Crisis by Robin Cook

This is one of my favourite books as well because the ending was absolutely unpredictable and the story flow is so easy and interesting. I wasn’t able to put down the book and I was very exited every time to pick it up again. Of course it is a medical murder mystery as it is Robin Cook’s niche.

The story starts in Boston, Massachusetts where our doctor is getting ready for his gala. He is separated from his wife and kids, exploring new events and lifestyles with his new girlfriend. Trouble will happen very soon, a patient of Dr Craig Bowman’s passes away very suddenly. As the event occurs we get involved more in patient’s, the doctor’s, the wife’s and the brother in-laws life, while we follow all the trouble of our doctor being sued by the patient’s husband. I really love reading how all the family comes together as one to help our doctor, to keep his reputation. Sceneries are wonderful, all the characters are lovely and the intertwining of events are fascinating.

If you want to read a captivating, fast moving book, don’t leave this one out!
